ACADEMY SCHEDULE

9:00 AM – Check-In

Check-in and Academy Welcome (light refreshments provided)

9:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Morning Breakout Sessions & Mass Choir Rehearsals

Teacher/Student Breakout Sessions will include topics like:

Jazz Solo Singing Workshop
Vocal Technique in Choral, Pop and Jazz Settings
Improvisation / Ear Training Workshop
Vocal Arranging

12:30 – 1:15 PM – Lunch & Teacher Round Table Discussions

1:15 – 4:45 PM – Afternoon Breakout Sessions & Mass Choir Rehearsals

5:00 – 6:00 PM – Closing Concert! (open to the public)

All Sound Check students are encouraged to attend. This is not mandatory, but it is a wonderful opportunity to work on skills and set yourself up for a successful school year. You will be working with top clinicians in the field and get exposure to the vocal jazz program at Long Beach State.

Mrs. Wallace will be leaving in the early afternoon and will need a parent volunteer to stay with the students for the remainder of the day.
